Gallery on the fence

An action inspired by the fence dividing the Care and Educational Institution and the Social Welfare Home. There is a place in Białystok hidden in the green of the municipal forest, where children and seniors live next to each other. Neighbors were separated not only by a fence, but also by a wall of stereotypes. Although they saw each other every day, they did not know each other and did not want to meet. We decided to change it. Talking to the participants and asking about their needs, we planned intergenerational activities that were attractive to both groups. During the culinary workshops and the city game, the young and old got to know each other, learned from each other, and spent time together. The most interesting moments were captured by Jarosław Łaziuk. Together, we selected photos for the open-air exhibition – Gallery on the Fence. The end of the project is the beginning of building relationships for the neighbors. Now it’s all up to them.
